Yachts

 The yacht section of KDMES sails at Weecher Reservoir. It is located in High Eldwick, Bingley on the Otley road between East Morton and Menston. Click here for a map. The reservoir is owned by Yorkshire Water and use of the reservoir and immediate property is regulated by them.

Club sailing generally takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays from 14:00. Competitions are often held on Sundays starting at 10:00 and are readily identified on the day by a windsock flown at the reservoir. There is a restricted viewing area in part of the competitor's car park, but the club house is for the use of members and competitors only.

Members of the club sail two main classes of yacht, IOM, and Micro Magic. On Weecher, competitions in these classes are held at National, District and Club level. Please note that if you wish to sail at Weecher then it is by the usual competition entry or, on non competitive days, by the invitation of a KDMES member. If you are interested, why not join us?
